Elvis Presley's only grandson, Benjamin Keough, 27, died by suicide on July 12.
Lisa Marie Presley is honoring her late son Benjamin on what would have been his 28th birthday. Benjamin, who she shared with ex-husband Danny Keough, died by suicide on July 12. 52-year-old Presley shared a picture of her son from a previous birthday celebration. She penned a heartwrenching tribute alongside the image, writing: My beautiful beautiful angel, I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you. The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same. Please wait for me my love, and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters and to be here for Riley. I know you would want that. Happy Birthday my sweet sweet Boy. You were much too good for this world. Presley is also mother to actress daughter Riley Keough, 31. She is also mom to 11-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
So sad. May God give her and her family strength to overcome the loss. 🙏— RosiD (@RosiK29) October 22, 2020
Other loved ones also remembered Benjamin on his birthday paying tributes to him on social media. His sister Riley shared childhood photos of the siblings, along with some taken at her 2015 wedding to stuntman Ben Smith-Peterson. She also made a reference to Benjamin's middle name being Storm placing two storm cloud emojis in the caption. Benjamin's former girlfriend, Diana Pinto, whom he dated since at least September 2017, also captioned a slideshow: Happy birthday my love. Not much to say just a really hard day, And isn't it ironic World Series Tampa Bay v Dodgers this year, I bet you're getting a kick outta that. I love you.
Musician Trev Lukather also posted a tribute on Instagram, writing: Happy Birthday to my brotha Ben who I miss everyday! This year has been life changing. For the good, and for the bad. Losing Ben was by far the biggest loss I’ve ever experienced. It just proves how fragile life is and the appreciation you should have for all of your dear, real, and close friends. Return the text, call or just reach out. You never know what even the closest to you are going through. Love you brotha Ben ♥️ Miss you everyday. Flying with the Angels on your 28th. We’ll hang again one day. Until then, just keep looking out for us as you do. USA Today reports that the official Facebook page of Elvis Presley's Graceland estate mentioned that Benjamin was laid to rest alongside his famous grandfather in the property's Meditation Garden.
As we previously reported, Benjamin died in an apparent suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The singer's rep, Roger Widynowski, told PEOPLE at the time that Lisa Marie Presley is "beyond devastated" over the death of her son. "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley," Widynowski said. "She adored that boy. He was the love of her life." In 2012, Presley told CMT that her son truly was the spitting image of The King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis. She said that all her children do resemble her father in one way or another but Benjamin almost looked identical to his legendary grandfather. "He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage!” she said. “Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny. Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him."

Lisa Marie Presley had her own take of Elvis’ 1954 hit "I Love You Because" that same year which featured all four of her children in the music video. Her song was called "Storm and Grace." It is reportedly said to be about her son as his middle name is Storm. The song's lyrics include:You have the most beautiful heart/That I’ve ever known/It kills me you can’t ever show it/And a shell has been grown. The mother-son even got matching tattoos together in 2009 for Mother's Day. On Twitter, sarahumanature asked the singer: Hey, you got a tattoo on your foot right? (or is it rumor) What does it mean? Is it religious, or like an empowerment tat? To which, Presley replied: It is a Celtic eternity knot. Ben (my son) and I got it together in the same place on Mothers Day 3 years ago.
So sorry for your loss. Unimaginable loss. Prayers to you and your family.— Ira Naliboff (@INaliboff) July 13, 2020
